Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of chiprlux.com (the "Site"), including our instant estimate tool, and describe the general framework for CHIPR LUX permanent roofline lighting services. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Acceptance of Terms

This Site is operated by CHIPR LUX ("CHIPR LUX," "we," "us," or "our"), a Utah-based company. By using the Site, requesting an estimate, or engaging our services, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

2. Our Services

CHIPR LUX provides permanent architectural roofline lighting design and installation services in the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding Utah communities. The Site offers an instant estimate tool that measures your roofline from aerial imagery, generates a night render preview, and produces a preliminary price. All installations are performed under a separate written service agreement provided at or before your on-site confirmation visit; in the event of any conflict between these Terms and a signed service agreement, the service agreement controls for that project.

3. Online Estimates vs. Binding Quotes

Online estimates generated by our estimate tool are non-binding approximations based on aerial imagery and our standard all-inclusive pricing (subject to change). Actual pricing depends on an on-site measurement and inspection by our technician. The technician's written on-site quotation is the locked final price — nothing is owed and nothing is installed until you approve it in writing. We reserve the right to correct errors in online estimates and to decline projects that cannot be safely or properly serviced.

4. Scheduling & Cancellation

  • Online estimate requests and technician confirmation visits are free and may be cancelled or rescheduled at any time before the visit with no penalty.
  • After you approve a written quotation and an installation date is scheduled, cancellation terms — including any required notice period and applicable fees — are set forth in your written service agreement.
  • We may need to reschedule installations due to weather, safety conditions, or material availability; we will notify you promptly and offer the next available date at no additional cost.

5. Deposits & Payment Terms

No deposit is required to receive an online estimate or to schedule a confirmation visit. A deposit may be required to confirm your installation date after you approve the written quotation; the deposit amount, due date, and refund conditions are specified in that document. Full payment terms — balance due date, accepted payment methods, and any financing arrangements — are set forth in your written service agreement. This Site does not constitute an offer of credit or a binding payment agreement.

6. Financing

Financing options may be available through third-party financing partners, subject to credit approval. Any monthly payment figures shown on this Site (for example, illustrative per-month amounts on the estimate page) are examples only and are not offers of credit. Actual rates, terms, and approval decisions are determined solely by the financing provider and will be disclosed to you before you sign any financing agreement. CHIPR LUX is not a lender.

7. Warranty

Our 10-year product warranty covers manufacturing defects, water ingress, and color failure. Labor is covered for one year. Coverage is tied to the installation address without re-registration. Exclusions include power surges, lightning, acts of nature, third-party damage, roof or renovation work, customer modifications, improper voltage, normal wear after the warranty period, and HOA-required removal. Unauthorized repairs, removal or reinstallation, deliberate damage, and incompatible third-party components void coverage. Complete terms and claim procedures are provided in your written service agreement, which controls in the event of any inconsistency with this summary.

8. Acceptable Use of the Site

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site or estimate tool for any unlawful purpose or to submit addresses of properties without a legitimate interest in obtaining services
  • Submit false, misleading, or third-party personal information without authorization
  • Attempt to probe, scan, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or connected systems
  • Scrape, harvest, or copy Site content or data through automated means
  • Interfere with any other person's use of the Site

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site for violations of these Terms.

9. Intellectual Property

The Site and all of its content — including text, graphics, logos, the CHIPR LUX name and marks, photography, night renders, and software — are owned by or licensed to CHIPR LUX and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print Site content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission. Night renders generated for your property are provided for your personal evaluation of our services.

10. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ESTIMATE TOOL ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that estimates, measurements, or renders will be exact — they are approximations pending on-site confirmation. Nothing in this section limits the warranties expressly provided in a signed service agreement for installed work.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHIPR LUX AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ESTIMATE TOOL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF USE OF THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). Liability relating to installed work is governed by your written service agreement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CHIPR LUX from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your submission of information you were not authorized to provide.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section prevents either party from pursuing a claim in small claims court.

14. Severability & Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
