What determines the cost

Existing lights and power

Old light removal can add work before the permanent system is installed. Large projects may also need additional power boxes. Ask whether removal, disposal, power supplies, and control-hub placement are included in your written scope or treated as separate work.

What is included in a CHIPR LUX installation

The approved scope includes color-matched track, RGBW lights, wiring, power supply, control hub, installation, and app handoff. The system supports more than 16 million colors, independent zones, and scheduling. The dedicated 3000K white channel is intended for everyday architectural lighting, while RGBW color can be used for holidays, game days, and other occasions.

Warranty is part of the comparison

CHIPR LUX provides a 10-year product warranty and a one-year labor warranty. Product coverage includes manufacturing defects, water ingress, and color failure. Weather damage such as hail, fallen branches, ice damage, flooding, lightning, and other acts of nature is excluded, as are power surges, third-party damage, roof work by other contractors, customer modifications, and improper voltage. Access and project complexity

Roof height, the working area around the home, gates, landscaping, roofline shape, and other access conditions can affect the installation. A straightforward one-story eave and a multi-level home with multiple peaks should not be expected to have the same installation scope even at similar footage.

Measured roofline footage

The amount of track and the number of lights begin with the linear footage being installed. A home with a large footprint may have a relatively simple roofline, while a smaller home with several eaves and peaks can require more planning and material. The on-site measurement turns the visible roofline into a project scope.

Here is the kind of detail a homeowner should expect to discuss during a measurement:

  • Front eave and two gable peaks included.
  • One side run included, with a documented start and stop point.
  • 6063 powder-coated aluminum track, color-matched using a physical swatch.

Financing and payment terms

Roofline lighting is not always one continuous run. Peaks, corners, separate eaves, changes in direction, and jumps between sections affect track fitting, wiring, connections, and installation time. Ask your consultant to show where each proposed run starts and stops.
